My childhood 3DS. I'm so happy I was able to find it again and that it still operates just as it did all those years ago.
I LOVE the Nintendo 3DS. I didn't fully appriciate this console in it's heyday. However, thanks to the large homebrewing community behind it, I can now enjoy it to it's fullest capacity. When I owned it as a kid, I only ever owned 2 game cartridges (those being "Lego: Pirates of the Carribean" and "Mario & Sonic at the 2012 Olympic Games"). If I wanted to play other games on a handheld, I borrowed my sister's Nintendo DSi XL. It was the Super Mario 25th Anniversary Edition version of the console. I ended up getting the Wii counterpart of this same promotional release for the 25th Mario Anniversary.
She had significantly more games on her DS than I did on my 3DS, but mine was newer and cooler for the time so we often borrowed each other's hand helds. Sometimes, we'd sleep in the same bed and have a sort of gaming sleepover where we'd hide under the covers with the volumes on our hand helds tunred low and we'd game into the early hours of the morning. When we'd get bored, we'd switch and I'd play my sister's Super Mario game while she played my Mario and Sonic Olympic game. Memories like that is what makes the 3DS especially nostolgic for me. I don't really consider my self a gamer. like... At all. I only play video games that are nostolgic to me so you can see just how special the 3DS is and how much it means to me.
Now that the console is dead and Nintendo is no longer officiall selling or creating or releasing stuff for it, an extremely active modding and homebrewing community has sprung up around this little console. Thanks to them, I'm able to enjoy my childhood console in a completely new way! I can play more games on it than I ever could have imagined (*cough* *cough* free of charge *cough* *cough*) with the only limit being the space on my SD card. I can personalize my console with fan-made or custom wallpapers (Officially, they're called HOME Menu Themes). I can do a bunch of other things that Nintendo most likely would not have approved of or have allowed while the 3DS was still "alive", like maxxing out my playcoins instantaneously, bypassing region lock to play games from different regions, play DS games straight from my home menu (instead of loading up a physical cartridge, that's "allowed"), making my mii (and other miis) "special mii's" (This feature was never meant to be a thing open to the public, only select nintendo employees and spokespeople). It's a whole new experience!
My 3DS Friend Code. Add me!
Pretendo Friend Code:
Nintendo Friend Code:
Submit your friend code below so that it registers on both our devices. It won't work if only you add me. I also have to add you back. Also, please note that I most likely will never be on the official Nintendo Online Server since, online fuctionallity for games like Mario Kart 7 and applications like Swapnote are no longer supported. I dont plan on gaming on their server, so you'll never see me as being "online" in your friends lists if you add my Nintendo Friend Code. If that matters to you at all, get Pretendo (if you don't already have it), add my Pretendo Friend Code to your 'friends list', send me yours below and lets send each other swapnotes or something like its 2014, lolz.
Important:
Please make sure that the type of Friend Code you're submitting matches the friend code you're typing into your 3DS on your end. If you're typing my Pretendo Friend Code, send me your Pretendo Friend Code. If you're typing my Nintendo Friend Code, please submit your Nintendo Friend Code. Otherwise, It will not work. Additionally, when submitting, specify which type of Friend Code is being submitted by clicking on one of the two fields provided(click on one of the two circles, whichever one applies).
THIS FUNCTION IS CURRENTLY NOT YET SUPPORTED. SUBMITTED DATA WILL NOT GO THROUGH. PLEASE CHECK BACK AT A LATER DATE.
My Nintendo 3DS tour
Splash Screen:
This is the screen that shows up when you turn the console on. I made it using art by awwchang on Twitter. Please support their Patreon and send them a Ko-fi. I really love their Zorori illustrations. I think these particular illustrations are very cutesy and are the perfect introduction to a light gaming session for when I want to relax and have some easy, stress-free fun. Zorori Sensei is so cute ❤︎. Here's a link to where you can download my custom Cute Zorori Splash.
HOME Menu:
Let's start with a tour of my HOME Menu. It used to be this Star Fox theme, but now it's this custom Zorori theme I made using art by awwchang on Twitter. Again, please support their Patreon and send them a Ko-fi. Here's a link to where you can download my custom Zorori 3DS Theme.
This is what you see when you open my 3ds!
This is the song that plays in the background of this theme! It's the 4th ending theme song for the "Kaiketsu Zorori anime. The name of the song is "Gayoshi" and it's sung by Sayuri Anzu.
This is the sound effect that plays when you open the 3DS's lid after closing it on the home menu!
「ファイトだ!」
"Fight!"
This is the sound effect that plays when you launch an application or game!
「オレ様に任せてください!」
"Leave it to me!"
Badges:
From this point on, I'm just going to show my off collection of badges that I use to decorate my bottom screen. The majority of them are Kaiketsu Zorori Badges. I've hyper linked them in case anybody wants to download them. I'm not going to start off with the badges you see immediately after turning the 3DS on, as you can just scroll up a bit to the last picture above to see them (it's above the mp3 files). I'm instead starting off with the badges you see when you scroll past that, to the left.
These are the "badges" that appear on the far right of the main HOME menu when you first turn on the console (see the folder peeking out from the bottom-left hand corner of the screen?). Featured from left to right we have a snazy looking Prince Arthur dressed in a modern suit, complete with a cute little black hat to bring his whole look toghter. To the right of Prince Arthur is a nicely rendered fan drawing of Zorori in what I like to call his "commoner" outfit (as opposed to his "prankster" outfit). lastly, we have a wonderful illustration of Prince Arthur, only this time he's looking more "prince-ly".
Starting from the left, we get a better, clearer look at the Prince Arthur illustration (It's rather nice, I quite like it. I would probably frame it or something, it's so nice haha). Next to it is an intermission title card taken from the anime, which features one of the boar-twins running away whilst the other runs after him from the far background. Zorori is seen snacking on something and sitting down as he looks up towards the sky. Below this intermission title card is a set of three stamps. From left to right we have a cute chibi-style badge of the boar-twins cheering on with pom-poms, Zororeene (Zorori's mother as a ghost), and lastly, another cute chibi-style stamp of the twins. Only this time, they're singing into mics and are surrounded by musical notation. cutecutecute.
From the top row, left to right, we have the afformentioned boar-twins, Ishishi (left) and Noshishi (right). To their right we have Zorori in his prankster outfit drawn in the traditional story-book style (as opposed to the clean, sleek style used in the anime). After which, we have another beautifully rendered illustration of a sort-of side character named Inutaku (who I very much like. He's just so...uh... yeah... anyway Zoroe x Inutaku 🔛 🔝). Beside Inutaku is an illustration of fan-favorite foxy adversary to Zorori, The always upbeat and determined Beat-Kun (I'm assuming that the same artist that drew Inutaku also drew Beat beacuse they're both rendered in a similar fashion).
On the bottom row, starting from the left is a badge of Zororeene in the story-book art style. Next to Zororeene is a nice circle badge of the boar-brothers followed by a badge of Zorori done in the same circular fashion as the one with the boar-twins. Following that, we have my beloved Inutaku again, done in the story-book illustration style. Lastly, an illustration of Beat with a cutely shocked expression.
Top row, left to right: Professor Gaon. Next to him is Captain Tiger. Next to Captain Tiger is a cutesy chibi badge of Zorori dressed in his prankster outfit doing an "ah-ha!" pose.
On the bottom row, left to right, is Prince Arthur looking shocked or confused. Next to Arthur is Gaon (❤︎). Next to Gaon is Roger, ew (we affectionately hate Roger here). Next to Roger (ew) is Captain Tiger, again, followed by Zoroe (If it wasn't made clear by the last hyperlink above, Zoroe is just Zorori in drag. Zoroe is also the object of Inutaku's desires because he's too stupid to realize the love of his life is actually the person he's supposed to legally apprehend).
Top row, left to right: A better look at the Zorori badge where he's doing the "ah-ha!" pose. Next to this badge is another chibi zorori badge done in the same style as before. He's jumping mid air with his fist balled up and up towards the sky. Next to this badge is a circle badge of Zorori done in the story-book style. Next is a similar circular badge of Zorori drawn in the amine's art style.
On the bottom row from left to right: another look at the "Zorori in drag" badge. Next to this is fanart of three of the characters from the anime dressed in "feminine" style clothing. From left to right, the three characters are Prince Arthur dressed in a pink shirt and dark pink skirt. There's a cute little green bow on the collar of his shirt and a strawberry graphic in the center of his shirt, as well. Next to Prince Arthur is Beat dressed in a yellow shirt and green pants. There's what I think is supposed to be some sort of purple-blue crescent moon graphic in the center of his shirt. The bottom hem of his shirt also has a bizarre cut. It's cut like an upside-down letter "V". He's throwing his hands in the air and saying "Gender" with an annoyed expression (me too, Beat). He's also ridiculously short compared to the rest of the trio lmao. He looks like a little kid lol. The last character is Roger (okay, he actually looks kinda cute here). He's dressed in a hot pink sweater and a pair of purple pants. He's wearing a necklace which looks like a green trinket (maybe some sort of gem?) on a string.
Here's the last of the Zorori badges. I thought they were kinda weird so I wasn't going to include them, but I ended up using them because they were a strange and bizarre example of anime merchandise to include in a collection of fan-made badges (as opposed to something like figurines or something). They're miniture, rectangular hand sanitizer bottles with three of the anime's main characters on them, one character per bottle. From left to right we have Ishishi on a yellow bottle, Zorori on a green bottle, and lastly Noshishi on a blue bottle. I guess whoever made this set of badges included the hand sanitizer bottles in the set to emphasize that the Zorori Fandom values cleanliness? (unlike other fandoms it seems).
These badges aren't Kaiketsu Zorori themed. They're Morenatsu themed and can be found here. I organized them in a 3x3 formation. Starting at the top row from left to right: The grey wolf is Kouya Aotsuki. The purple/"black" cat is Shin Kuroi, he's my favorite. The green dragon is Tatsuki Midoriya. On the middle row from left to right is the buff tiger Torahiko Ooshima. Next to him is Shun Kodori. Then, Kounosuke Kuri. Starting off the bottom row is Juuichi Mikazuki. Then, Soutarou Touno. Lastly, Kyouji Takahara.
These are the top and bottom screens of the Home Menu without them being obstructed by any games, folders or badges. Again, my custom Zorori 3DS Theme can be found here. Reminder that the art is by awwchang on Twitter. Here's their Patreon. Send them a Ko-fi :3.
Folders and games:
The physical cartridge I tend to always have inside my 3DS is "まじめにふまじめ かいけつゾロリ きょうふのたからばこ". It is a game that is meant to be played on the Nintendo DS family of consoles. However, DS cartridges are also playable on the 3DS family of consoles as well (The same is not true about 3DS cartridges and DS consoles).
This is my "Hacked System" folder. It's where I keep the applications you get after modifying your 3DS, as well as some extra applications you can only get through modding.
This is my "Original System" folder. It's where I keep the applications that originally came pre-installed on the 3DS when you first bought it. System Settings, Mii Plaza and the camera app/photo gallery all reside here.
This is my "English" folder. It's where I keep my English-language games.
This is my Japanese folder. It's where I keep my Japanese-language games.

This folder's on some cool shit.

This is mero♡, The friend I made through StreetPass Mii Plaza on the 3DS. More specifically, this is their Mii, Which currently resides in the VIP section of my StreetPass Mii Plaza. I just want to dedicate this little space on my page to mero♡ and take the time to recognize them. This webiste would most likely not exist if it were not for them.
